Fayette County: Rich in natural resources, Fayette County has long been an agricultural destination and host to thriving farms, forests, and river fed oaks, elms, red cedars, pecans, cottonwoods and sycamores. Oil is also another predominate source of income for the county with a resurgence in production during the 1990s due to new horizontal drilling techniques. In addition to all these resources and their associated recreation activities (rafting, hunting, hiking, etc) Fayette County experiences a 277 day growing season and subtropical weather making it, for those that live here year round, their little piece of paradise.
